The High Desert Brass: A Quintet for Festive Occasions

The High Desert Brass, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, plays a repertoire of classical and jazz numbers arranged for brass quintet as well as numbers written expressly for brass quintet. The group, formed in 1998, has played at churches and private parties as well as at the Albuquerque Sunport.

Members of the group are Joe Walters and Glen Flanders, trumpet; Bill Swift, french horn; David Harmony, trombone; and Chuck Campbell, tuba. Walters plays regularly with the Albuquerque Philharmonic and belongs to the International Trumpet Guild. Flanders has played professionally in Las Vegas and is much in demand by local symphonies and dance bands. Swift has taught music and occasionally directs local orchestras. Harmony has played locally with the Albuquerque Philharmonic and Albuquerque Concert Band. Campbell's musical history is on this site.
